Consciousness in Modern Science and Jain Philosophy is an interdisciplinary conference that seeks to connect philosophers, scholars of religious studies, and scientists in exploring the common ground between Jain philosophy and the scientific study of consciousness. Understanding consciousness can open new avenues of scientific research and philosophical inquiry beyond the mind. Possibilities include differentiating levels of consciousness and examining the consciousness of living beings. Our goal is to foster a global dialogue on the current state of the study of consciousness and its impact for understanding the human condition. Presented by the FIU Jain Studies Program and the Jain Education and Research Foundation, with the co-sponsorship of Mohini Jain Presidential Chair in Jain Studies in the Religious Studies Department at the University of California, Davis.
