The Policy Challenges of Central American Migration: The Human Rights Perspective
Central American families and children keep flocking to the US-Mexico border. The devastation produced by two recent hurricanes and the chronic structural problems in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua keep pushing people out of their countries. The constant waves of immigrants, especially unaccompanied children, represent a challenge for practitioners, advocates, and policymakers working to protect immigrants’ rights. This panel will bring the human rights perspective to the discussion of immigration policy in the United States.
