Hi all, please contact me with any questions about ICMA. Frantz Williams, email@example.com. Our temporary email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Question: Mr. Casals, is the customer service excellence you describe common in local government in your experience?
Question: Can Mr. Casals share his view on remaining a-political as a Town Manager? My assumption is that Managers' jobs can be subject to political changes (mayor, council members, etc)
Mr. Casals, can you please share of times in your professional career where you faced objection or resistance from your team and/or the community when trying to implement a new project? How did you persuade them to change their views and support you?
Mr. Casals, what was the hardest lesson (work-related) you’ve had to learn in your career?
Mr. Casals, what would you say are the necessary competencies and soft skills that you think are the most effective in being a city manager ?
Mr. Casals - With the changes from the pandemic has that opened up internships to be virtual? If it has do you believe the internship can be just as effective as if they were in person?
Mr. Casals, have you seen examples of or are there opportunities for students to propose joint-research projects with city management? (i.e in new or innovative areas of focus?)
Please provide a recommendation on how to prioritize work and meet deadlines when everything is #1.
"There's no such thing as bad patience"

What qualities and values do you look for when you are building your team? How important is diversity to you in decision making? What goes behind your thought process?
Being a suburban community, how does the Town of Cutler Bay mediate between surrounding metropolitan growth, the need to accommodate future housing demand as mandated by Florida’s Comprehensive Planning, and the desire of the Town’s residents to maintain a “small town feel”?
CDMP - yes, but not clearly lol. CAFR - YES! Wait until Dr. Frank's class :)
Good question, David.
*FYI* CAFR = Comprehensive Annual Financial Report; CDMP = Comprehensive Development Master Plan
Expanding on David's question, can you share in what ways (if any) Cutler Bay looks to expand affordable housing? Does it amount to what residents and the Council want?
How has it been with the census2020 this year for your municipality?
Thank you Mr. Casals!
Thank you for taking your time to speak with us!
As a resident of Cutler Bay, thank you for your time!
Thank you, Mr. Casals.
Thank you very much
Thank you, Mr. Casals
